Brin,
I know you're planning a trip to London and wondered if you might like some tips. 1 - Forget Oxford Street. And forget the London Eye. Instead, squeeze in a trip to Persephone Books, 59 Lamb’s Conduit Street. Wartime dresses in the window and dove-grey copies of women's classics piled up inside (including "How to Run Your Home Without Help", 1949) - you'll leave with an armful of the most wonderful books in the world. 2 - If you fancy a visit to London's dedicated cookbook store (or a cup of tea out back), have a quick nose at Books for Cooks in Notting Hill and 3 - you're pretty tired now, so finish with afternoon tea at the Savoy... before retiring to 4 - a gorgeous suite at the Darlington Hyde Park, a Victorian townhouse with dramatic windows, big beds and leather sofas. You can order take-out from any kind of restaurant to eat in your suite. There, your itinerary is sorted!

Brin, thank you for your words of wisdom, what a blessing you are. I pray when times get overwhelming for you that you can remember this verse I'm thinking of. So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. You are truly one of God's chosen.

PS
The pain never goes away, it will just gets dull as time passes and with Christ we can do all things.

Hugs,
Kathi :)

Wow. What a wise old soul you are Brin, in the body of a child.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm sharing your letter to 'Darla' with a friend of mine who is dealing with fresh loss, grief, forgiveness, all those things. I think your letter could help her. Thank you for posting it.

That post kept me thinking through my entire bus run this morning.(I drive a school bus)
It was quite timely for me. Thanks.
And don't forget to check out a few good gardens while you're gone. That can be so inspiring. I always feel very close to God when I'm in a garden.

This post got me remembering the story of the Velveteen Rabbit... a little boy who loved his rabbit so dearly, that in all his worn, plush fur he became "real." I feel that way about forgiveness. Throughout our lives, we are often worn down by the actions and words of others... even those who are trying to love us. In my life, I have responded to hurt by hardening myself like a china doll, or have desired to remove myself to a shelf to avoid further pain. Yet, when I have chosen forgiveness and love and made myself open to being healed and loved once again, I become more real. I share in the life of my Savior, and that life becomes meaningful.

As always, thanks for sharing. Like others have said, you just have a way of combining your thoughts and feelings with God's truth so that we are encouraged and God is glorified.

I started a new blog to chronicle my journey towards better health. After connecting with Christian Women Online's Live Well group, it's evolving into a bit of a spirtual journey, as well. I would like to link to your blog, if I may. As I think of "Living Well," I think of you. I love your entire blog, whether it's Monday Moment or sharing a recipe or talking about getting ready for a trip. Please let me know if I can link to your blog. Hopefully I've caught you before you leave. If not, I'll wait to hear from you.

Blessings,
Carrie
