Quiet Blur

That's life this week, a quiet blur. Long work week (47 hours) and moving - box by box, load by load... quietly loading, driving, unloading. Some good, quiet music on the iPod, though:

Quiet, John Mayer
Quiet Place, Lanae Hale
Quiet Times, Dido
Quiet Nights, Diana Krall
One Quiet Night, Pat Metheny

Calm for my ears. It helps. It really does....

There's this song on my iPod that makes me think of you...it's called "Between the Lines" by Sarah Bareilles. I think I imagine that is what you would sound like. Crazy, huh?? But I like the piano in it and I think the lyrics are interesting.

Brin,

I am so glad you & Millie have found a place to move. You can soon plant and get on with things. Take your time and I will pray God will bless your move.

I just love a good quiet blur . . . and the rest period that MUST follow. It's truly not optional -- take care to take care, dear girl-on-the-move.

p.s.
Can't wait to see the new cottage!

Loving all you "quiet" songs!! Hope the move goes well and can't wait to see the new nest . . . even though it's needing "lots of love"!!

I have been away a long time from blogging and reading blogs. I see that a lot has happened in your world too. Your house sounds like a wonderful place for you and Millie. I was so sorry about your grandfather, and about the bakery and all the changes--but excited for you as you move on. Do you know the hymn Day by Day? It has been such an encouragement to me this summer. Here is a favorite line:

"He whose heart is kind beyond all measure gives unto each day what He deems best..."

and also

"The protection of His child and treasure is a charge that on Himself He laid; 'As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,' this the pledge to me He made."

Gah - 47hrs! Perhaps postpone *most* of the moving to next week? But hey, it's usually when we're crazy-busy that we get the most work done, so I'm sure you will be more or less done by next week.
Good luck with the move and remember to take Millie for some long walks to air your brain :-)

Brin, if you're not too far from Waxahachie, you might be interested in their Chautauqua event on Sept. 26. I've written about it on my blog: http://carlahoag.wordpress.com

They're going to talk about Victorian clothing and have a fashion show of it.
