Apron shop is stocked, although many new pretties are in the works and planned between now and the holidays. Many. I'm having such fun doing these... scouring bins and stores and sales and old trunks for fabrics, buttons and notions; sitting at the machine as twilight comes, sewing; crisply ironing a finished piece and wrapping it carefully in tissue.... Once I heard it said that when you buy something that someone makes, you're buying a piece of their life. You're buying moments out of their life that they devoted to making you something. I like that. As I sit and sew, that's how I feel. Instead of doing other things, I'm making something for you. I'm not selling aprons, I'm selling pieces of my life.

Today feels like the first day of fall to me. Later I'll have to tell you about it. It's magical. I adore autumn in a way I can't describe. Just knowing it's here revives me. Buying mums this morning and puttering around the old feed store leaves me happy in ways I can't express.

I'm off to enjoy the rest of the splendor of this day. Happy Labor Day wishes and prayers to you all.... -Brin

Couldn't comment on your last post. There wasn't a comment box. Just wanted to tell you that is my hometown too. When I saw that pic, I got chill bumps because I have felt that same way about being from a small town.
Love the aprons, especially the fall colors...MY FAV season!
Hugs from NE Texas.
Have a blessed one! Love your work. You are an inspiration.

Just ordered one your aprons for my sister for Christmas. SHE IS GOING TO LOVE IT! She is an art teacher and loves anything with circles on it. She can put all her artist tools in the pockets. Love it! Can't wait for it to arrive. May have to order another before the holidays get here. I have decided I am going to make and buy all handmade for presents this year.

I read the Thirteenth Tale this past spring and loved it. The story is so richly woven and I am certainly a sucker for books.

Glad you are enjoying fall. It's not quite here in North Carolina yet, but the temperatures are slightly cooler. When the leaves start turning I will have some fabulous pictures to post.

I did discover some caramel apple candy corns the other day. Perfect for this time of year, and I love apple cider. Yum.

Oh, and although I love the aprons, have you ever thought about making full length ones? I always get my shirt dirty when I cook, so I would want one that covers up my top half, but in one of your pretty prints.

Oh my that's the loveliest sentiment to attach to the hand made craft and it's so true. These pieces of your life are charming.

I discovered your blog a few months ago and have been hooked since. You are such an inspiration despite everything that you have been going through. I just bought one of your beautiful aprons and cannot wait to receive it. Please consider selling your scarflettes, as they are amazing!

You had me at feedstore! I grew up in a one-horse town - related to everyone... 2 churches, one post office, and a little gas station. We often would have to run into town (30 min.) away to get something at a "feedstore" type and crazy as it might sound - the smell is heaven to me.

I love your thoughts that you are
giving away a piece of your life with everything you make. I can also feel the beginning of Autumn,
I love the slight chill in the air first thing in the morning.

your aprons are so beautifully fresh and lively! you must just smile and smile while sewing ... giving life to different bits of fabric ... matching them up so wonderfully ... i think you must be sewing your smiles in with each stitch as your sunshine so shines through!
happy day every day to you,

I have been reading your blog for a few months now, and can't even remember how I ran across it, but have never commented before. Just wanted to say that you are an inspiration to me, and help me keep life in perspective as I slog through the day-to-day. I appreciate your beautiful words and beautiful crafts, and am going to put an apron on my Christmas wish list! Many blessings to you today.
