A Quiet Moment of Rest

The beginnings of a collection and a found hutch, right at home in the Freeman House dining room.

The house is incredibly chaotic today... boxes, dishes, papers and piles everywhere. Friday the restoration of the original pine floors begins. This massive project has already, I've found, required quite a bit of packing, stacking, and juggling.

I guess I need to tackle this next, but sitting here looking at this sight in the rainy afternoon light gave me pause.

I think I'll have something cold to drink and sit down a minute. It will all get done later. It always does....

Hoping you find a quiet moment of rest sometime today, too. -Brin

What a wonderful hutch.
I love your collection as well. White goes with everything doesn't it?

White ironstone, how lovely! Just something else you share in common with Martha Stewart:)

Love your hutch and the white collection is very nice. I'm still stuck on blue and white dishes...

I just sat down to rest myself and just love checking you blog. I also looked at your Freeman House book shelf and wondered what book you would recommend first on that big list?! I am looking for a good novel, something not too deep but catching? I figured you were the person to come to?! If you get a chance, I'd love your advice! ericaengland@gmail.com

Where did you find such a lovely hutch? Would love to hear the story of that. And your collection is so pretty. Yes, it does look right at home there. Thanks for sharing. xxoo

Beautiful collection and display. :) We are about ready to install 1,000 square feet of American Cherry flooriing. It's going to be a crazy ride!! Glad to know someone else is having a crazy flooring experience, too!! :)

I rest with you, your blog and lovely photos, like a mini vacation! I love the hutch, did you find it? What a wonderful piece and I love the simply white ironstone too. I can only imagine the work ahead in saving the floors but what a sight once done!

That is so pretty. I'm envious of your floors being refinished. We have dark pine under our carpet here in this 100 yr old house. I'm a'scared to rip up the carpet because I don't have the $$ to pay someone to restore what might look yeuchy!
