Flowers and Light

One day my bedroom in this old house will be finished. Until then, I'm filling it with all the buttery, glowing light and soft sheets and fresh flowers I can. This picture is from the spring, when bulbs bloomed and I was re-reading Jane Austen. I remember that day. It was very peaceful.

I was introduced today to a website you have to see: Floret. This woman is living a part of my dream. Erin grows and arranges sustainable, old fashioned flowers on the equivalent of one acre of land. I've always wanted to do that... grow and arrange organic flower/herb/vegetable bouquets, if only for personal use. One day I will. I may try next summer on a tiny, trial scale. Wouldn't a "job" like that be more lovely than anything? I think so. It would for me...

Wishing you a lovely Tuesday. (Is anyone still missing Gilmore Girl Tuesday nights as much as I?) -Brin

Definitely still missing the girls. I keep them in constant rotation on DVD (much to my husband's chagrin), but it's just not the same. Sigh.

I Loved Gilmore Girls but was more partial to Christopher the romantic then Luke the curmudgeon. And why did Rory have to sleep with her married-ex boyfriend? There are some things we'll just never have the answer to. Such is life!

I was definitely a Luke and Lorelai fan. And a Rory and Marty fan, although they never were really together...I wanted them to be. Sigh.

I love that show... still watch the re-runs and DVDS all the time. I get lost in it. In a way, it brings out the child-like fairy tale wish that I could live in that show, with those characters & cute little town! So when my son says he is going to grow up and be SpiderMan, I just smile... because when I grow up, I'm moving to Stars Hallow!

Someday I will be a flower farmer too, one of my dreams as well! Love the butter colors. In the last several months I just got into Gilmore Girls since it's on reruns here, so now from 4-5 pm is my relax time before supper. I don't know why I never watched it while it was on? But I love it now and truly understand the fix!

I must be one of the few who has never seen Gilmore Girls. Guess I'll have to check it out.

But, the whole reason I wrote is to tell you all about a wonderful website featuring a beautiful flower farm and studio in Minnesota. It's also featured in the current Sept./Oct. 2008 issue of Midwest Living. We visited the farm about 10 years ago and immediately fell in love with the place!

I was just thinking of the girls the other day! My aunt and uncle took me to dinner and their golf club a few weeks ago, and my husband said, "Are you having a Gilmore Girls moment?" It was, kinda, only my aunt is nothing like Emily!! :)

I miss all the loquaciousness (I'm sure that probably isn't a word) and the town events!
