The Chick Makes A Comeback

Hi there. Well gosh, it's been forever! Where in the world have you been?

Oh my. Oh my, oh my, oh my. So many things have happened since we talked last! So many things.  I, for one, got chickens. Real ones. The kind with downy feathers and tiny beaks and little feet that stomp through herb pots without any regard to carefully-tended dill grown from seed. (ahem)

How about you? Did you get chickens, too? Or maybe a raise? Or a life-changing circumstance? ...How about a sunburn? A birthday present? A little rain? A surprise? Or a new wrinkle (or two)? Wow, in the course of a year you could have gotten any number of things...

Let's catch up. It's been too long. Be back soon. I have to go pick up Marple from the vet.

(That's my cat. I got one of those while you've been away, too...)

See you soon!  -Brin

Brin, so good to see you!! I was so surprised you come up in my feed this afternoon. Glad you are doing well and your chicks are very cute!

We got a fluffy teddy bear hamster named Pippin. :) And I have been dealing with chronic illness... not fun, but I'm learning to surrender to God and grow in suffering.

Glad you are back. :)

Great to see you back! On my way home from work today- I was driving on a back road and I saw a Mama chicken and about 5-6 baby chicks crossing the road. They were adorable. I wanted to take them all home with me! :O)
Love it that you are back!

Oh, I am SO glad you are back. I've missed you! I thought of you again the other day when I looked at the sweet, little book and the darling vintage-y postcards you send to me when life was quite difficult. I can't wait to catch up with you. Welcome back!

Hooray that you're back! My littlest daughter's name is Olive and we call her Marple because we always thought it was cute. She's not too keen on it anymore, but she's fine with all its variations including Marpsie and Mipsie. Such a cute name!

So I um admit it. I quit following your blog, erased it from my bookmarks. I mean, I thought, well this is it, this time she is really going and she isn't coming back. I had been reading for years, yes, years, like since 2007 or something, right? And then we parted ways. Even though there is still some cranberry jalapeno jam in the freezer to remind me of your sweet/tart/spicy southern goodness, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never read about Freeman house, or Henrybella's bakeshop, or the oil industry, or the cabin, or colorado, or Millie the dog, or or or... For some nostalgic reason this morning I sat here with a cup-o-coffee and googled "my messy thrilling life" and bam! There you are, back again. Ha, it's like bumping carts with an old friend in the market. I'm glad to see you. I'm glad to see the chickens. I've missed you. Welcome back to my life.

I checked your blog for a long time, then like others, decided you were gone for good. I even googled Brin's mom's blog and read a little bit about you via that back door (and learned a little more about your lovely mom and family). So it was at least 2 months ago when I checked and now I can't wait to read the entries you've written since you came back!!

You're back!!!?!?!??! :) I came by your blog today, thinking you were still not blagging anymore, and what a wonderful surprise. I still remember the day my friend and I drove out to Henrybella's and played your piano and had that wonderful ham salad stuff on cornbread and lovely sweet treats. :) Missed you and SO glad you're back!
