Rain.

Rain the past few days means relief from the searing Texas heat. That's a blessing all around, especially for plants.

Especially for plants I tugged out of the Freeman House garden, hoping to keep alive until they can be transplanted into a new garden. There are more to move, but so far, so good.

Even the bell peppers appear to flourish despite the sudden transition.

I'll be occupied for the remainder of the week with the large sale at Freeman House, slated for Thursday and Friday. If you're in the area and want to stop by, I'll be the brown-haired girl in the back, looking hopeful....

Good luck with your sale - I'm sorry to hear Freeman house won't be yours any longer. Can't wait to hear the exciting new things that will come about from this.

It's rough out there. I have a friend in a similar situation.

I'm amazed that those peppers didn't mind being moved! You lucked out on that one!
Hope you sell everything you want to sell....for top dollar!! Good luck, Brin.

When I put books from your shop in my shopping cart, they showed up as being shipped from amazon itself and not you. I'm confused. There are a couple that I'd really like to buy.

So good that you have taken some of the plantings from Freeman House. I like the way you describe yourself, too.

Thanks, y'all!

Carla - yes, the books in the shop are sold and shipped through Amazon. I DO have a shop guaranteed through Amazon in which I actually sell my own books. The shop in my sidebar, though, is "filled" with books I love, read, and heartily recommend and are sold by Amazon. (I get a small commission on everything that's sold through that store....)

It is confusing, huh? Sorry! Just know that when you click on the "my book shop" and see books pop up, you're getting things I love backed by Amazon guarantees and service!

Hope that helps. (?)

I wish I could come to your sale but I live a LONG WAY from Texas! My sis and family lost a house some years ago and have a much nicer one now. God does not make mistakes even in tough times! Romans 8:28 is still true!

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain

(Bring the Rain lyrics by MercyMe)

Prayin' for you lovey! Hang in there! Love your blog and come visit herhousehold.blogspot anytime! Hug, The Lady of the House

Hey Brin!

I just wanted to let you know that the ad I got on your blog today was something about "Established Men-Sugar Daddy Dating." That definitely doesn't mesh with your blog... so I just thought I'd let you know. Maybe you can block certain ads? I'm not sure now that works.

I hope your sale goes well. So sorry that you are losing Freeman House, but I know the Lord has a new chapter and season prepared for your life.

Gee Brin, I thought you sold pretty much everything back in March, what can be left to sell?

You talked about the yard sale in this blog post in
March: The Sale(s)

and about letting your Jeep go in this one in
March: Understanding the heavy things

It sounded like there wasn't much left. I always wondered how you continued to live on in the house while you had the bakery.

We've got plenty of that sunshining-heat here in AZ, too. Although not enough gardening. Maybe next year.

We have recently moved and had to downsize and so I can relate to your current adventure. It really is refreshing and exhilarating to start a new journey; especially one that you didn't particularly plan on. I love your outlook on life and anticipate reading along as you go.

Best of luck on the upcoming sale.

enjoy the rain (you can have some of ours if you want...our much-lamented british summertime weather is kicking in in full damp style! ;)
and good luck with the sale! xx

Thank you, y'all. Your encouragement is like spring rain to me right now!

Linda Z - Thanks for saying something. Hmm... I'll have to look into that. I have parameters set with Google that don't allow vulgar, explicit, sexual, etc., ads on this site. The only ads displayed here appear under the lead post at the top of the page. Are you sure it wasn't a pop-up ad on your computer? Regardless, thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it!

Lynne - yeah, I did have a sale back in March, but I didn't sell my washer and dryer, my refrigerator, my oven, my bed(s), bedroom furniture for spare bedroom(s), etc. But I have now....

Brin, no problem... I figured you'd want to know.

The ad I saw was under the lead post, not a pop-up. Today it is an eHarmony ad. The other ad probably just got around the parameters you set somehow... I haven't seen it since.
