Let all that I am
wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
-Psalms 62:5

Saturday. A quiet day of waiting. After lunch, I pulled on worn-thin blue jeans and went outside for a stroll past the old apple tree.

The apples were just beginning to blush under the glare of the summer sun.

We left the apple tree and wandered into the field of tall, swaying grass. Millie likes this best.

Together we walk, pausing to look and listen and explore...

...and pick flowers. Zinnias and lantana grow from gardens past. I clutch them as I walk along, then say a prayer and throw the flowers after it, towards heaven.

My prayers may not be acknowledged, but I'm never sorry I said them.

After the walk, I climb on the trampoline. With a giant leap, I throw my bare feet to the sky and sail back toward earth.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.

I can't say how happy I am that you're back. And its ok that you're not talking about recipes, or fixing old homes, or sewing and knitting. I just love your blog. You are an inspiration to me. We may be losing our own house and we are trying to build our own business at the same time. Your blog strengthens me. Your faith is that of my two favorite people ever, my grandparents. Maybe door #1 is closed, but God's about to open door #2...and something tells me that what is behind it is wonderful.

There's a lightness to this that is beautiful. Reminds me of the old response about what to do when one gets to the end of the rope...tie a knot and hang on? Or just let go and fall right into the hands of God where you'll discover you've been all along.

It's wonderful to see your ministry to the hurting. So much of it out here.

I love this verse. It makes the very inner essence of me feel quiet and still and calm. Just waiting on Him.

Egads, leaping on the trampoline, feet to the sky, AND taking a photo at the same time!!!! Now THAT is a talent from God.
Are zinnias perennials?? I thought they weren't!

Love those pink toes and that they are floating in the air:>) Keep on keepin on Brin. God is with you everywhere. But, you knew that already:>)

We are starting to see traces of the old Brin. More carefree and ready to bounce right on. I think Freeman House was becoming too much of a burden on you. Now that you are free of it, you can move on.

What a beautiful post. I have to say, I can't help but feel that this is a turning point in your life, Brin. There is something new and wonderful on the horizon for you. Don't give up! I think you'll look years from now, on this particular time in your life, and you'll say "Wow. Look what the Lord has done."

My heart still aches for your recent losses. But, I sense a turning of a page on this post. I see a more free spirit in you, and I praise God for it.

Love to you and Millie. She's looking all grown up! Our black lab (Lady) sends Millie "wags and sniffs"!

Your prayers are always heard & acknowledged, but sometimes not answered in the way we expect or according to our time lines.
He hears your heart Brin! What ever may happen don't forget...HE LOVES YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE!!!

Hey, the feet look pretty! I guess this is a time of transition for you--I know it's tough. God will show you the way.

Somehow your posts make me think of Shadrach/Meshach/Abednego. God is able to make everything right and perfect, but if He chooses not to, then we are to respond joyfully and continue to serve Him. And that is what you are doing.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
