Outside it is raining. Inside, my feet are cold, a movie is playing, knitting is tossed aside, and The Pleasures of Cooking For One is open to a page that makes me happy.

I'm still on this away job... this project that demands so much, including requiring me to board myself and Millie in a motel. It segregates me from real life. Sometimes I welcome that; right now it's tiresome. I chide myself for complaining. So many would be so grateful for this work.

But I'm ready for roots again.

I sense myself skimming through this slow part, eager for scenes in the next chapter.

Time, as it's always faithful to do, will tell....

I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your blog. Reading through your ups and downs really inspired me to take a look at the challenge I've been facing in my life for the past 14 months. I started a blog about it, and I hope someone will read mine and it will help them as much as yours helped me.

You make a motel room look awfully good... Hope that you're soon back doing what it is that you were meant to do. Nest. Yup, I think that's it. ;D (Do not allow my opinion to cloud your own good judgment.)

Hi Brin. I'm a blog buddy of your mom's and it took me awhile to connect you two.
Your knitting is perfect. My mother in law tried to teach me to knit. She said anyone could knit. She changed her mind and has suggested I take up something else. Still searching.....

Love the vignette you photographed . . . the knitting, the cookbook . . . really soothing and beautiful.

I knitted that same scarf one year ago. I have no idea how you manage those really long straights! I did mine on a circular. And, you are using a much finer yarn than either I did or the pattern called for. Loved the pattern tho.

I want to know what motel you are staying in that has such a pretty bedspread, or which one allows you to leave Millie for periods of time while working. I have travelled with pets to dog shows for a number of years and none really like dogs in rooms while you are not there. Must be a congenial place.
