A pile of fresh strawberries given to me by the lady I've been housesitting for this week. I brought them home and decided in all of two seconds that they were going into a loaf of Strawberry Sugar Bread.
This bread is my favorite... for breakfast, for snack, for anytime. It's tender and warm and sweet and strawberry-ish. I love it toasted with sweet cream butter on top. But I eat it plain and at room temperature, too, with a cup of tea or a glass of milk. Divine.
I've been working to develop the perfect recipe for a sweet bread that can be modified - at a moment's notice - to accommodate most any fruit or berry you have around: blackberries, blueberries, peaches, etc. So far so good. I may make it available as a .pdf download as soon as it's perfected. How does that sound? Would anyone be interested?
The weather continues to be picture perfect here at Freeman House. No heat, low humidity, and soft, glowing sunshine. In a moment, after I hang the sheets out on the clothesline, I'm going to lie on a blanket next to the Thyme and fall asleep. This week tuckered me out. Tomorrow is impossibly busy. I could use a little nap.
Wishing you a sweet and simple Saturday. -Brin

Oh yes, definitely would be interested in the recipe. You've never steered me wrong with the great things you've shared. That's why I wait with baited breath for the book to come out. So looking forward to it.
Enjoy your nap and a good rest. xxoo
I have actually made the Strawberry bread the last time you talked about it and have forgotten about it. Everyone loved it.
Yes, have a great day, too.
Oh yes! Please share the recipe. I've always wanted a recipe that can be used for any berry. That bread looked scrumptious the first time you posted about it. I shall have to get some strawberries and whip it up!
Oh my does that look good, please share the recipe if you can :)
Oh yes, I would very much enjoy a recipe for your bread.
One question, living alone, as you do. . . how can you stay so slim and still eat all this food. Do you give away your baked good and cooked foods?
Blessings,
Sher
The bread looks delicious. I am waiting for more news on Millie and more pics. Please give her just a bite of the strawberry bread.
I would definitely be interested in that recipe Brin! I love to make sweet breads and they get eaten up almost immediately out of the oven around here! I hope you have a very relaxing day today and I think I am going to take a nap also... that is if I can get my girls to help me fold that mountain of laundry that is waiting in the living room! :)

I would love that recipe! Jim can't eat strawberries, but he loves blueberries.
I would love the recipe. It looks so yummy!
count me in! That sounds delish!
Yum! me too!
Do you think we could we use frozen berries to make it?
Yes, I'd definitely be interested. I have a recipe that works well for one thing, but not so well for another. I'd also love to find one that works for canned fruit such as peaches.
I also would be delighted to have such a versatile recipe! *waiting eagerly*
I've never commented on your blog before, but wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your posts!!
May I come over and share a large slice of strawberry sugar bread with you with a strong cup of coffee? Gosh, I'll bet your kitchen smelled yummy today. Between your brownies from the other night and now this bread you have me drooling for home baked goodies. All I have is some homemade chocolate mousse waiting for me in the fridge. Totally delicious but I would prefer your strawberry bread.
Enjoy your clean crisp sheets tonight.

Yes I too have made this recipe from a previous post. It is a wonderful and delicious bread..I'm wondering if there are any changes in the recipe.. I'll be waiting to see it again.
B, keep writing! Many blogs ago, you stated "...writing is cathartic." You have a space to express who you are today; however, you will not be the same woman 10, 20, 30 years into the future. You will be changed by time and life experiences and will have greater perspectives, new ideas, vivid reflections, first dawnings, and deeper revelations of yourself, life, others, and of our Awesome God. Keep writing; keep searching, and you will find. I love you! Mom
Your strawberry bread is my favorite,I keep frozen berries on hand just to have a loaf :).
Have a wonderful Saturday Brin,
Hugs,
MN Kathi :)
PS
Every weekend I go to the farmers market, I smile every weekend I see those purple beans...they're not as expensive as your neck of the woods, I guess I should try them but I have no idea how :)
Ok, I stumbled upon your blog through another blog from another blog from another blog only to discover that a.) you are living in my dream house, and b.)you are living in my dream house! Haha. Seriously, I have always dreamed of having a fixer upper, but it's never materialized. Love your blog, and I'd love to add it to my favs. I promise I'm only partially strange (I teach 6th graders, what can I say...it makes you weird.) Oh, and I read a past entry where you mentioned being an hour west of Shreveport. I live about 30 minutes (depending on whose driving) from Shreveport also..M'shall, Tx. Small world, eh?

Dear Brin,
That would be so lovely if you would share the recipe.
It looks delicious :-)

Thanks for the great pictures~ It's neat to see the differences in the seasons(between states). In Oregon our grapes won't be ready until late October! Planting pumpkins in September? Never! They'd be rotten by November from rain! Thanks again!
Hey Brin....Go Browns! Heehee....I just couldn't help myself!!!

I would love the recipe as long as I can figure out how to download it? And if we can change out the berries in your recipe per season, even better! I'm gonna get some strawberries this week and make a loaf, it's cool here like there and who can resist baking in weather like this! Hope you enjoyed your nap, sounds lovely!
Count me interested! The bread looks divine (so do the strawberries).
How 'bout them Cowboys?!
YUM. I love sweet breads like this. That looks divine and I'm sure smells and tastes even better. Check out my blog for a great giveaway!
I came across your blog the other day when searching Google for "how to create a gravel patio".... I've been so blessed by reading through your entries. Thank you for sharing your Messy, Thrilling Life... you are truly an encouragment!
I would love a recipe like that!! Thank you for offering to share one. I love your quiet, peaceful way of writing and your beautiful home. Have a good week!
Please and thank you ! hugs, pk
