Help.

Explored Mesa Verde ruins over the weekend, in addition to railing and rafting. More on that later. For now, I have only this to say: I ain't coming home and you can't make me.

Oh. And help. Help! Someone please stop me before I do this.

(By the way, my summer reading list has been updated with notes and a few new reading suggestions. Enjoy!)

I enjoy your "travel diary" so much! The last 2 posts about the rail and ride make me want to travel to Colorado for sure. Do you have ANY idea how many of us would love to do what you're doing now?!!? Do you know??!! Well, I'll go...I'm gettin' ticked off. lol

Oh, dear. That's quite a deal on 35 acres! What about the land back in TX. Don't forget that dream. :)

Well we see you have Colorado fever.
So much for your Texas plans!
Follow your dreams I say...
what does your family say though?
THey will just have to travel to see you.
Are you able to do your job on this 'vacation'?

Oh yeah, I love Colorado!!!! There is no place like it. I WILL NOT talk you out of that purchase. :)
Also, I checked out your updated reading list and I had to comment. I LOVED The Shack. It is so unique. It will give you much to ponder over on those moonlit, starry cool crisp mountain nights. AHHHHH I'm so jealous just imagining your scenery!!!

My dear - you had a comment on your summer reading list from Patsy Clairmont - she is a wonderful Christian author - good for you!

I have read just 17 pages of The Shack and have written down 3 quotes to keep:
p 11 - “…most of our hurts come through relationships so will our healing, and I know that grace rarely makes sense for those looking in from the outside.”

p11 – While Mack’s relationship with God is wide, Nan’s is deep.”

p12 – “… help them understand what had been going on in his inside world. You know that place: where there is just you alone – and maybe God, if you believe in him. Of course, God might be there even if you don’t believe in him. That would be just like him. He hasn’t been called the Grand interferer for nothing.”

Enjoy,

Love the pictures & the land is a steal. Just think how much cooler you would be in the summer if you move from Texas. You're young.....go for it!! Run a guest lodge, discover more Wish Islands, adopt a friend for Miss Millie, meet a cowboy. Take us with you!

Could you move the house from Texas up onto the land and sell the land? I'd hate for you to lose that wonderful house. But, what a dream and opportunity. (You can't barely get a house here for that cost.)

You would have lots of visitors.

Oh oh oh...you could hire the cute conductor to lead hunting expeditions and then have a hot home cooked meal waiting when they all get back.

Think it through, don't act rashly, pray about it, and wait. If it's right, it'll be evident.

Well, it's beautiful. But so is TX. :o)

If you want to be talked out of it, I'll add another deterrent for some: SNOW.

Yes, it's beautiful to look at, but living in it is sometimes something else. Not for everyone, so I'm just sayin......

Looks like a fun time, Brin! :o)

Blessings,
Mickey

I'd never talk you out of the land, too good a price, too good a piece of property. Maybe as a place for retirement when you get older? I know it would be a while, but seriously who could resist it? And being the steal it is ... who knows what prices will be years from now. I say think and pray about it first ... God will give you an answer. xxoo

My 20-year-old son read The Shack and really liked it! The exact words of his book review (as shown on his Facebook page) are: "Very good book, something you should read and take your time with. It has many fantastic areas with God and many of it's ideals are very true and Biblical. An easy read with some areas that provide much food for thought and turned me to the Bible to search out how true it might be. It does have some hiccups, as any human-made book of fiction would." Gee ... I think I need to read this book -- sounds good! ~~Mary~~

Another deterrent: Mountain Lions!!! Yep! A few years ago a little boy was attacked at Mesa Verde, on a trail there! You can come back to Freeman House when you are good and ready. I really think you're more suited for east Texas life what with the baking and all{wink}.

I have to admit I am envious though. My major was Native American studies and as a child I spent many summers at Mesa Verde and surrounding areas. If you get a chance, drive down to Chaco Canyon, it is surreal.

I would be jumping in with both feet. No looking back. (Not always the most practical or logical but certainly the most romantic and aloof and scary and wonderful.)

I hope you follow The Hand of The One leading you. Such a grand adventure, indeed!

Think winter.
I live in the mountains of Alberta so I really do understand your new found love with this place.
Hey, everyone needs a vacation home! This could be yours. Is it possible to have the best of both worlds? Freeman House and your own private mountain getaway?I don't think so. Not for you, anyways. I think that when you have the will, you find the way!Can you write a post as to what you were like as a child..just curious!
