Love, Handed Down

Bright, cold morning. I'm warm underneath the quilt my great-grandmother made my mother. I'm sleeping under love, handed down.

My new job is going well; thanks to those who've asked. I'm a bundle of nerves as I stay preoccupied with expenses until my first paycheck arrives. (Who works five weeks before getting paid? Oil and gas folks, that's who.) A long commute - three hours driving each day - means I'm crashing on the floor with family until I can afford to make the drive from home. My car's broken down three times now and each day is an exercise in faith. I'm exhausted but hopeful. And so thankful. So, so thankful. A good job in this economy is a blessing only heaven hands out. You see this too, right? How God reached down and arranged dates and people and places so I'd be in just the right place at just the right time for this incredible provision?

He loves us. Oh how He loves us.

I'm living under love, handed down.

That quilt looks soft....only a softness that years of use will provide.

What a blessing Brin to hear about the job. Our God is so faithful and he always has the best plans for our lives. Sleep tight under that quilt of love and know that all provisions come straight from the Master's hand.

we had a sermon on that this past Sunday in a way. It was on Psalm 139 and how God knit us in our mother's wombs and in the message he talked about how a knitting project - be it a blanket or a sweater takes lots of time and love and that when given as a gift ppl know how much love was put into it. And that is how God looks at us. Every bit of our being was 'knit' from the very first cell. I just thought that was a cool example. happy that you are happy in your job. also happy you have a place to crash until you can afford the commute! living under love handed down...it should be my motto! :)
