Remember these charming stamps? They - and other favorites - are listed in my Etsy Shop, ready to find happy homes.
Amazingly enough, I'm about to fit all my belongings into a 9 by 14-foot storage building. Incredible. I am, of course, selling most everything: furniture, appliances, collections, the like. I'm also listing things on Amazon, eBay and Etsy. It's freeing, selling all your things except the essentials. This is freeing, I keep telling myself as I mail off another treasure, and don't you want to be free?
And so stuff goes... away to another home, another life, writing another chapter in its already-colorful story.
As do I. As do I....
(Quick Update: The stamps were snatched up quickly - thanks! - but there are still many items remaining and many to come throughout the week. For my autographed books - by Rachael Ray and by Mike Huckabee [blogged about on this site!] - see the Amazon shop by clicking here.)

Freeing. Hmm. Maybe we should all free ourselves. It is with that letting go of "things" that we find the most important things.
I so wish you could hold on to Freeman house but it sounds like you have made peace with it. AS they say, God does not close a door without opening a window.
I too am in a decluttering mode. We are getting rid of tons of stuff at our condo for a simpler way of life.
Good luck to you!
Freeing, such a simple word? Your still the role model! Hugs!!
I like the idea of using this sale to officially close the Freeman House chapter in your life. God brought you there for a reason - you needed her to help heal your hurts and she needed you. Maybe you both got everything you could from that experience and this is just God's way of moving you to the next chapter. Selling the treasures from that era to help fund the next is both a way to say goodbye to that period and hello to the next. :-)
Brin,
Will you be living in the same area? Have I missed reading about the Bakery?
I know God is in control and is leading you down His path...
God bless...Betty
You're in my prayers.
I know it sounds trite to say that God has another direction for you to go. It still doesn't make it easy, does it? This has been an incredibly difficult year for me and several of my friends. Still I try to look for a little joy each day. I have hope and faith that it will get better. Just knowing that we share in the suffering, lifts the burden somewhat. Joy will come in the morning. V.
15 or so years ago my mother-in-law had all her things in a storage warehouse, which burned to the ground. Since that time she has been so philosophical about "things," striking just the right balance of enjoying and treasuring them while being able to let them go at a moment's notice. I think it is freeing. I, myself, am not there; but I recognize the value of that freedom. We're all watching--waiting to be included in your journey! C
Oh Brin, you seem to have such a wonderful and accepting attitude about all this. Life, is but a series of seasons. There is a season to cast off and a season to build up again.
Just think of it as making room for all the blessings that are headed your way!
Blessings, Laura
I know that letting go of Freeman House is difficult...but knowing that it won't sit empty and unloved must be somewhat comforting. I still think you should write a book or a movie.

Hi Brin!
I'm so glad you are hanging in there. I know you will have a beautiful life no matter where you are or where you live. :) It's YOU that makes it beautiful. Okay, I need some of the freeing feeling with my garage! Lol!
