Hello There, 2009

Before I ring you in, I'd like to say a final farewell to some of the lovely moments and memories 2008 brought:

There were so, so many. Too many to list. Too many to photograph. Too many to name. And now the year is gone, and I look to a new year, full of so much possibility and promise. What do you hold? What is hiding... waiting... for us to discover?

This much I know: I'm glad 2008 is done. And I'm ready to see what God has in this next set of days.

Resolution One: I will live for God.
Resolution Two: If no one else does, I still will.

Happy New Year to you! Your photos from the year are so interesting and beautiful. Your little dog looks precious. All the bright colors here are so refreshing and pleasing to the eye. The simple elegance with a punch of trendy in the fabrics and in the nature shots so aptly cropped and all the collages - meld to display a beautiful soul.

Brin, happy 2009!

Wanted to tell you that Ashley LOVED her apron! It was her favorite thing in her stocking, and let me tell you, she had good stuff in her stocking! Thank you for making her Christmas special!

I love the photos, and can't wait to see what beauty 2009 will bring. More than that though, I love the quote from Jonathan Edwards. What a beautiful message to begin the new year with.

You are not only a talented and poetic writer, your pictures have a beautiful quality to them, as well. (Just curious, what kind of camera do you use?) I enjoy your blog so much and am so pleased that you share with us all your adventures in life and that you are open enough to share the good and the bad. ( I identified so much with you when you said one time how you love your church and you love to teach Sunday school but that "churchy" people make your skin crawl...ditto for me! But you said in a much more descriptive way than I!)

Your dog is gorgeous! I want to sratch his neck and pet those velvet ears! Happy New Year, I hope yours is chock-full of opportunity!

The Jonathan Edwards quote gives me goosebumps. Thanks for giving us inspiration in 2008 ... your life seems more thrilling than messy and it's always fun to watch!

I was in awe of the cliff dwellings when I visited. To think they were there planning the proper angle of the sun to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. And on the other side of the world, Jesus was teaching and all the things he did.

The Reverend Edwards pretty much sums it all up, doesn't he? That's really all the resolutions anyone needs. I still like to make lots though. I could just save myself the time and trouble and follow his leading.

Hi Brin! I'm just wondering if the train you've shown is in Durango, Co and if the ruins are at Mesa Verde. I live so close to those areas and they looked so very familiar!
Have a great 2009!!!!!

Thanks for the pic compliments, y'all!

To those who were wondering, I have a CANON A80. But I *hate* it. Truly. It's awful. Most of my photos are heavily edited and out of, say, 30 shots, only one or two of mine are useable. So there you have it: I use a Canon A80 but don't recommend it!

Maybe this new year will bring a new camera so that I can finally take close-up shots, huh? I hope!

God bless you, brin. you've taught me much. we're somewhat similar, you see. and you have many words of encouragement and wisdom that have been bestowed upon me. thank you. i look forward to your last few posts and will be sad (though i understand why you're leaving) when you go. i do hope you've caught my belated comments the past couple weeks as i waded my way through your posts.
