  1. Kristie-

They weren't practical for me AT ALL, but I just jumped in without thinking about it and I'm so glad I did! I knew nothing and had nothing for them, but where there's a will... :)

I hope you'll get some one day. They are so worth it!

  2. Interesting shades of eggs. We recently had some given to us and I was surprised to see the different colors. There were even some in a sort of robins egg blue color, just a tad more subtle. Beautiful in your basket!

  4. aren't chickens the best fun ever?!
I got chickens back in October and then in March brought home a bakers dozen, named them The Nuggets; cause well, I want them to go in the freezer. But now...!!! they're starting to lay and I'm a little bit squeamish about making meat chickens out of them. True Story. We'll see what happens.
I love your chicken photos,Brin. Especially that basket of eggs and the red door. Very Artsy! Pat

  6. Beautiful photos! It was always my dream to own chickens, growing up on the farm I didn't realize how special it was to see the chickens running around the yard, scratching for their food.

  7. Wow! You must have a ton of chickens laying that amount of eggs! Aren't they wonderful? Soon after we moved, we adopted 8 chicks. A few months later, a friend gave me 6 chicks for my birthday. And who could stop at chicks when the ducklings were so cute--so we got 3 runner ducks. It's a virtual poultry museum at our place. :)
