I'll tell you how the sun rose
a ribbon at a time.
-Emily Dickinson

Sun ribbons saw me off each morning as I left for work. They greeted me with soft, dappled color - color that made me sigh and breathe dreamy prayers as I went on my way. There's nothing like a sunrise in the country. There's nothing like leaning on a hay bale and watching the sun unfurl her pastel ribbons above you.

It was a tiresome week, wasn't it? I'm ready for some iced tea and some knitting and some rest. But there's so much we need to catch up on... so much I need to say. For now, though, I'll settle on this: thanks for being here. Thanks for being my friend. And if I could share my hay bale and sun ribbons with anyone, it would be you. -Brin

  25. Brin, do tell us more about your new job...and your new life. Don't think we'll judge you that things have changed so much in the past year or so...we've all been there. God is using this time to hone and deepen you. (Guess you're growing yourself, instead of your garden...so see, you're still gardening!)
I like the pretty photos and vague comments. But I want to know more about YOU. What you're doing, how you're feeling about that. What your new plans/goals are. We're your friends -- tell us.

  27. If I lived nearer (I'm in Northeast Indiana!) I would linger with you at that hay bale. I might even climb on top of it and let my legs dangle down. I do love to linger. To just be still and observe and soak in the views, sounds, smells. I appreciate and respect the time you take to contemplate, ponder, and appreciate your life, loved ones, and surroundings. Your blog is an inspiration for the simplest (and that is a complimentary form of the word!) reasons. I will continue to "visit' you.
