It's finally over: the visitation, the people, the service, the graveside. The week that wouldn't end. It was wonderful and it was wearisome. I'm unspeakably thankful it's behind us.

Sorry I've been absent. It appears I've moved into a period of strong wind. Instead of cursing it, I'm trying to embrace it. The stronger the wind, the stronger the tree. As I prepare for this week - the week I'll deed Freeman House away - I keep repeating the phrase to myself. That, and this: He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17) I can't tell you the comfort that verse brings, the thought that my loving, compassionate God goes ahead of me. That He's already in my tomorrow... has already okay'd everything that will come my way. He is before all my things, and in Him I will hold together. It has become my mantra.

Thank you for your patience and encouragement during all this wind. Hoping this week brings you comforting, held-together things. -Brin

  1. I love that verse in Colossians. He and I both know He's the only reason I "hold together"! It keeps us very close : )!! Please keep us up with where He takes you. It is a privilege to pray for you and to walk this journey with you as much as is possible through blogland.

  9. I think of you often and pray for you Brin. Isn't that the strangest thing? To think so much of someone who I have never met and am unlikely to ever meet? Your losing Freeman house breaks my heart. I am sad for the loss of your grandfather. I am glad that you are holding on to Gods promises and strength. I hope you will continue to share this journey that God takes you through.
    Hugs

  11. Brin, I'm so sorry for this valley you're in right now. It just seems like too much for one person to handle at one time. You have the perfect outlook that will get you through it though. God keeps His promises, and He has promised to use all things for the good of those who love Him. Who knows what could be around the corner for you!

  13. Thank you for sharing that verse as I often pray to be held together but didn't know or remember the verse. I'm glad with you that the long week is over and I pray that when you think of those times that they will be more sweet than bitter.

  14. I am going through one of those seasons as well, and one of my favorite verses right now is Romans 8:28;
    And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
    Praying for strength,comfort and wisdom for you, and that He would prepare your path before you.

  17. I'm so sorry. The strong winds of life have definitely been blowing your way. But He is faithful. You are not alone. And when we are at our weakest, His strength will see us through. Every time. In every circumstance. Nothing is too hard for Him. Stay strong. I believe it was Tozer who said that those who have gone through much are those who God is able to use much. Not a morsel of your loss, struggles, etc., will be wasted.

    Praying for your journey...
