A chocoholic customer eating cake
Boy am I nervous. So, so nervous. I haven't been this nervy since I interviewed Martha Stewart that one time when I worked for CBS and said totally idiotic things. The sweet shop opens tomorrow and my stomache is in knots. Will I have enough food? Will I have way too much? Is the selection okay? Will the coffee be too weak? Am I starting too small? Do I need an employee already? These questions, and a million others, bounce around my head like pink rubber paddle balls.
Fortunately I have a hot bath, a bowl of Baked Potato Soup and a little brown dog to keep me company this evening. I'm looking forward to it all... especially Millie. Sure have missed that pup lately.
Tomorrow it is on. Tomorrow is the day. I'll save a Strawberry Sugar cupcake for you....
Everything's gonna be great!! And if it is messy and thrilling, it'll still be great!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the plate your customer is eating her cake from...is it something you've collected? I always thought it'd be fun to have a restaurant and serve desert on thrifted and tag sale saucers with roses on them. I've started my collection...
ReplyDeleteI bet you won't sleep a wink tonight, you'll be as excited as a little girl the night before Christmas! I can't wait to hear how it goes, I do hope you'll let us know!
XOXO
Joni
I LOVE it! I know it will be a great success! And I do plan on visiting sometime--so save a table! Please keep us posted! I'm SO going to miss your messy thrilling place!
ReplyDeleteEveryone will be so charmed by you and HenryBella's that it is going to be just fine. Better than fine...fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYour customer looks as if she has discerning tastes.
Hope that you find a spare moment to tell us all about it.
You will come out with flying colors, Brin! Heck you've been through a lot this past year. If you can get through all that you can get through this. :) Oh that cupcake sounds SOOOOO good!! I could use one right now!
ReplyDeleteBrin, the God who's brought you through thus far, and is helping you to soar and reach for your dreams, well, He's the same God who'll be standing right there with you as you open Henrybella's tomorrow. Keep on reaching and keep on soaring! B.
ReplyDeleteCheers sweet girl! It's gonna be great and a big success ... I feel it in my bones. You will power through anything, just remember to BREATHE. Much love! xxoo
ReplyDeleteBest of Luck!!! I am sure you will have the time of your life and make many lives sweeter in the process!!!
ReplyDeleteI am really going to miss your blog!
ReplyDeleteDear Brin,
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best tomorrow, as I have faithfully been doing since I began to follow your journey.
When I face a hard situation I always look at the little fortune that was neatly tucked away in a delicate fortune cookie. It says: Just be yourself; you are wonderful.
I think you should take Millie with you. People are suckers for that kind of thing and it would really add to the homey feel. Who knows, you could even bake up some doggie treats. I can envision customers adding Henrybella's to their routine dog-walking route.
All the best!
Cathy
Best of luck to you and your endeavor. God's hand is upon it, He caused it to happen, and it's easy to believe that He will bless it.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled for you! Let us know how everything goes.
I suspect that tomorrow will be very tiring but very rewarding!! I can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm de-lurking myself! Good luck! I know it'll be wonderful!! Wish I lived closer so I could enjoy some of those yummy baked goods!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, Brin!
ReplyDeleteOf course your nerves are on end -- that's the life within you just bubbling out! You're probably more excited than anything!!!
BTW, the little girl in your picture looks as though she could be your daughter! Is she related?
So many of us are praying for you and your success. You can't get any better than Divine help!
Many Blessings,
Julie
Oh, the anticipation! Serving your delicious treats out of a heart of joy and thankfulness just can't go wrong.
ReplyDeleteAs Oswald Chambers wrote, "Remember Whose you are and Whom you serve."
If I lived down the street, I'd tie on an apron and wash the dishes for you. Have a wonderful day!
Good luck tomorrow! I wish I lived closer to Texas...I would stop by for a yummy treat and some coffee in the early afternoon. Sounds lovely to me. :) Have fun living your dream and enjoy every minute of it!

"Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4.
ReplyDeleteHe knows the desires of your heart, and it appears that they are going on, girl! It will all be WONDERFUL, no matter what.

Jan
it's ok to be a little nervous but you'll do great!! Can't wait to hear all about it.....
ReplyDeleteI am so encouraged by your blog. My sister told me about it and I have loved reading how God has given you the desires of your heart (after bringing you through some tough times). We are in the midst of the tough times, but I know that God has a plan for us & he will reveal it to us as we remain obedient to Him. In the meantime, I am going to have a sale (last summer we sold a bunch of things and the income helped us over a rough spell). I think that it is time to do it again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beautiful & inspiring story.
