I had to show you this video, made by my Uncle Tim (husband of my beloved "Auntie M"), whose family weathered Ike this past week in Baytown, Texas.
Uncle Tim, I cried and cried last night when I watched this. I'm so glad y'all are okay. You have my prayers... and anything else you may need.
Love you, B
Wow is right - I cried too. Precious Jesus - the bottom line. God Bless them all. xo LindaSonia
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful video. We are here in Friendswood, which is 20 miles north of Galveston. I'm sure your aunt and uncle are very familiar with it. I can testify to the horribleness of this storm. But I can also testify that God is GREAT and that tragedies like these bring people together and bring people to our Lord Jesus. There is so many beautiful people out there who are helping our area right now. Even residents, like us, who already have power back and didn't get severe damage...life seems "normal"..so we get to go help those who are still suffering and have lost everything. Thanks for this video. You have a sweet uncle.
ReplyDeleteThat was powerful...
ReplyDeleteYour uncle did an excellent job of sharing that message via God Tube.
That was so moving..oh wow!
ReplyDeletePowerful!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sher
I cried and cried with you. What a beautiful and sobering video...and Ferdinand Ortega...there was no more perfect music than that. I was moved by the images of trees and water and broken down houses, but when I saw the look of anguish and hurt and uncertainty on people's faces, I came completely undone. Thank God we have a Savior who never leaves us!!
ReplyDeletePraying that God would be with your uncle, your family, and everyone affected by Ike. Thank you for sharing.
Brin, my tears have joined with those of everyone else as I watched this video that says it all! Your uncle has it right - it's obvious to see where his heart is. I'm so thankful they are safe. Please tell him thank you for sharing with us the reality of the storm and the truth of the only place to hide from the storms of life.

ReplyDeleteOh my... thank you Brin.
ReplyDeleteMy husband sang that song last Sunday. I sobbed at all three services... and now to hear it again with such moving footage... I am humbled at the outpouring of love to those in need.
Thank you for sharing with us. Bless your Aunt & Uncle.

Incredible. Very moving. Your uncle is so, so, so right. Jesus is it -- the reason we live and move and breathe. The alpha and the omega. The lover of our souls. This life is a mere blip on the radar screen when compared to the wonderful things God has in store for those who love Him where there are no more tears or suffering or pain.
ReplyDeleteOne day.
In the mean time, to live is Christ, and I praise Him for all the blessings He has bestowed on us in the here and now, particuarly the important things like other people, pets, freedom, and too many things to list. :-)
Thanks for sharing this. It means a lot. I needed to see this tonight.

This video brings to my heart all that God has been showing me these last few months...with tears of sorrow and joy...yes we weep for the loss and the tragedy, but we also rejoice in the victory...that Thank God we are still standing, on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness...On Christ the solid rock we stand...all other ground is sinking sand… (Old Dallas Holmes song) I am so proud to observe the Christ in him (your uncle) his hope of glory...
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a while now and I too, like your Aunt and Uncle, call Baytown home. It was kinda neat to know you had relatives right here close to us. We have been so blessed during the whole ordeal. We evacuated but came back home to find our house untouched. We had aproximately 75 huge trees and now have only a few that are salvagable. We had no power or water but we had our home and family. That is what matters most. Our power was restored in two days. Others are still waiting. I have been so proud of how fast everyone is picking up the pieces. I went to town yesterday and things were getting back to pretty much normal after only a week. We Texans are very resilent people.
ReplyDeleteTell your Uncle that I loved the video. Jesus is all that matters.
Such a powerful video. I was priviledged to be able to watch.
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and inspiring video. With all of the focus on the economic crisis and the Presidential campaign these days, your video provides some much needed hope...and reassures us that the goodness of the American people, with the guidance of Christ, our Lord, still exists. Thank you for sharing.
