Gracie's Garden Tour

I went outside the town,
trying to hear what was in the wind...
- Henry David Thoreau, Concord, 1845

I thought a little garden tour was in order today. Join me, won't you, and let's romp through the grounds of Holly Hill...

Before we set off, we probably need a tour guide. Luckily, Gracie the cat is here to lead the way....

If I were a squirrel this would be my primary residence.

Guests could sleep here, in the guest room. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "garden bed", doesn't it?

Together we could play among these trees. Especially this one. By the way, I call it the pear-way to heaven. (Slapping my knees while you roll your eyes.)

Ooop. We're stopping. Water break, apparently.

How do you like them apples?

Ah, sunset. Good tour. Thanks for coming with. I'll see you again tomorrow... same time, same place...

  1. Loved the gorgeous garden tour, Brin..I could almost climb that 'pearway' to heaven! I have a pear tree and this is the first year that I think I will have some pears..only the small jam type.
Off to bake "gramma cookies" and I am wearing my gramma's apron! Someday I will send you a pic of this 50 some year old apron...my digital "died" so as soon as it is replaced I'll be happy again!!

  2. Mmmm, strawberries and blueberries. I made home made Strawberry/Blueberry Short Cake with fresh whipped cream for family dinner, for Memorial Day.

Always love homemade shortcake and whipped cream. And this made a Red, White and Blue theme dessert. :-)

  4. Brin, really enjoyed the tour, it just amazes me that it can be that lush and green in Texas? The parts I've been through are so dry and brown, boring too. I just love this time of year and seeing how other parts of the world grow their gardens! Thanks for taking us along!

  6. Holly Hill is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. My good friend and owner of HH, Jolene, is one of the most interesting and inspiring of folks. A trip there to Jo's world is like a trip back in time to a never-want-to-leave place. Brin, I'm glad you featured such a lovely place for your readers. If only they could go there... Love,
    Mom

  7. What a beautiful and relaxing tour! Thanks so much. How scary to know someone was inside your home while you were asleep. Thank God His covering of protection was resting upon you! Bless your heart.
